Curriculum

Staff at Thornlie Primary School use the Pre-primary to Year 10 Western Australian curriculum to ensure students are provided with a coherent and comprehensive learning program across all curriculum areas. Staff use the achievement standards plan student learning programs, assess student progress and report to parents. More information may be found on the SCASA website.

Additional Programs

The school has a number of programs in place to ensure the positive reinforcement of good behaviour in both the playground and classroom. Our Whole School Behaviour Management Program is designed to reward and reinforce good choices and positive behaviours.  Students can earn faction points, Merit Certificates presented at each assembly, including recognition in the school newsletter, Aussie of the Month, and reward events at the end of each term for children who display appropriate behaviour. The school operates specialist programs in LOTE (Italian), Physical Education and Music. Other programs include Aboriginal Studies/Cultural Awareness, Music-School of Instrumental (Guitar) and Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) Program.
